Wedding Photo Booth or a Guest Photo Album? What Each One Leaves You With

A wedding photo booth can give guests prints to take home that evening. A shared album collects the pictures guests upload. If the booth quote includes digital files too, check which pictures that means: the booth photos, not the ones still on your guests' phones.

What the booth gives you and what the guests collect

On its own service page, Dani MyCool describes a booth set up in a dedicated corner of the venue with its own decor and lighting. Guests can use it alone or in a group and receive a printed or digital photo, depending on the option chosen.

If you want a group picture against a backdrop, that is the kind of service to consider. Ask to see pictures taken with the booth you would be booking so you can judge the result.

For the album, think about pictures from elsewhere, such as a photo at the godparents' table or on the dance floor. If guests take and upload those pictures, you can collect them with the other event photos. Don't assume every moment has already been photographed.

On its booth rental page, Instant360mm says photos are printed within seconds for guests to take home. That gives you a specific reason to book a booth if you want to hand out printed photos on the wedding night.

The same supplier promises all the digital photos at high resolution after the event. That delivery statement gives neither a deadline nor a transfer method. OMG's own website lists email sharing from the booth, delivery through a transfer link and an archive kept for six months. The archive period is not a delivery deadline, and it doesn't tell you when the download link expires. Ask for those details separately.

ImagoMoments accepts uploads while the event is active and during a grace period after it ends. Keep the upload window separate from the question of how long you can access photos already uploaded.

When a booth and a collaborative album complement each other

Suppose you have booked a booth for the reception but also want a picture a guest took at the ceremony. Ask them to upload it to the album. You can then collect that ceremony picture alongside any photos taken at the booth.

3. What is the delivery deadline after the wedding?
   
4. When does the download link expire, how long do you keep the archive, and until when can we request the files again?
   
5. Do we have permission to put the pictures in our shared album and share them with guests?
   
6. Would you agree to join the event as a photo booth member and test a file upload before the wedding?
   
7. How many prints does the package include, and what hours will the booth run?

OMG describes unlimited printed photos in its packages. If your quote uses that word, ask what it covers and confirm the hours you have booked. Keep the replies with the quote.

How to announce the booth and the album in the invitation

Use the wording of your digital wedding invitation to tell guests what you have planned for photos. An ImagoMoments invitation is a personalised web page with its own link and QR code, opened in a browser.

For my own wedding, I would start with the album because I want the pictures guests choose to share with us. I would add a booth for the take-home prints if the budget allowed. If those prints matter most to you, I would put the booth first.
